I learn more about history and current international relations through Polandball than I do media news sources.

In Canada our biggest problem is confusing moose and elk.

As a Brit, I can't identify the difference between moose and elk. the largest we get are deer, or fabled wildcats roaming the country.

Just to further confuse things, what the Americans call moose are called elk in Europe.

Moose are about a foot taller (up to 6 foot 9 inches excluding antlers) and up to about 1000 lbs. The antlers span between 3-5 ft.
Elk are smaller although they can weigh the same. The antlers of an elk are less full than the antlers of a moose.

The antlers are quite different.
God help you if you hit either with a vehicle.
The moose has a tendency to make your car a convertible.

Nothing, they're unknown here. If you had one in a zoo I suppose it would be an American elk or something.

Oh I see. One thing about Canada, we sure have a lot of big wildlife.

Elk (in the American sense of the word) are genetically close to red deer and the two can interbreed. What we call elk and the Americans and Canadians moose are a lot bigger - the males go up to 700 or more kilos and they're a major cause of road traffic fatalities in the countries where they live which is why the Swedes have their "elk tests" of new cars.
